Last topic - Lessons learnt - future practice

Time flies. I was just starting my adventure with ONL, and now I have to say goodbye.  What have I learned from ONL? I learned to take up challenges boldly. Meetings in the PBL group always left me with something to think about, to reflect on deeper. Interaction with such fantastic people with different experiences has taught me to look at the problem from many perspectives. I got to know new ideas for activating students which I will definitely use in my professional work. I am also happy that I was able to share my insights and ideas. It is reassuring that you are always listened to in a group, there are no stupid questions, that you have support from other companions, even if you don't quite understand what's going on. The presented digital tools in education (whether in groups or at webinars) are a fantastic mine of knowledge. I'm definitely going to explore Miroboard closer. I also liked the idea of one of the PBL Group in which they used the example of a cookbook to

ONL - designing the online and blended learning

After these two weeks, I know one thing for sure - I'm not a good moderator of online meetings 😅 It was a stressful experience, I felt that I was asking the wrong questions to develop the discussion. however, I liked the check-in and check-out procedure. There was a lot of laughter 😀 Coming back to the design of online and blended learning - even though I am a beginner in this topic, I have the impression that, compared to my colleagues at the University, I am trying to develop in this direction. I participate in webinars, learn about new digital tools in education, and come up with new activities involving my students. At the time of the first lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I did not know how to go about teaching online. At first, the quality of teaching was not the best. Over time, I started to learn about different methods and techniques of online education and it was getting better and better. But just because I knew them, that didn't mean my students were also fl

ONL - Learning in community

It was a very interesting topic. I realized that I must have never experienced community learning the way it was presented in the webinar and by my PBL colleagues. Learning in a group has always been about assigning tasks for each participant, but these tasks were independent of each other. So each group member did an assignment individually, and then usually handed over the assignment to the teacher. No group discussion, no group findings. Sometimes it happened that one or two people did all the tasks for the group because the others did not want to. But I am inquisitive by nature. If I am interested in something, I intensively search for answers, ask people, check many sources. I guess that's how I set up quite a large personal educational network for myself. By participating in many projects, I can find relevant information, and if not, I know who to ask, what to watch, what to read.  New technologies have greatly facilitated access to information. Nowadays, knowledge is not onl

Open Learning – Sharing and Openness

My observations show that it is difficult to talk about openness in the work of an academic teacher. Lecturers do not want to share their work, make it available to the wider community for fear of criticism, accusation of plagiarism or misappropriation of the developed content. However, when I think about the education system in my country, I think that something needs to be changed, that the current system is outdated. People want to learn not only at school, they want to learn useful things, not necessarily the same as classmates. And if someone is looking for this knowledge and skills, it is worth finding the right sources. In this aspect, the openness of resources is beneficial, we choose the knowledge we need at this point and we will probably use it. New technologies help a lot, thanks to which acquiring new information and skills is easier and in some situations more effective. Thanks to the teaching materials on hygiene I have developed, many people could learn the most importa

Digital literacy - where will it lead us?

The last two weeks have been extremely intense. I thought a lot about digital literacy. I consider myself to be a fairly good person in the digital world. However, I know that there are people who are more fluent than me in this area. I wonder if I should constantly improve my digital competences, or if I do not, I will be lagging behind technology. However, I have the impression that I am wasting my time searching for and trying new innovations in digital technology. I am a person who, before trying something will deeply check all the conditions and rules of this new thing. And I don't want to waste precious time reading, checking the regulations of some new service or tool, even if they are to raise my digital competences. On the other hand, what does raising digital competences mean? Do I have to constantly install new applications that make life easier? Do I have to try new digital tools that will improve my work? Do I have to be constantly "in touch" so as not to mi

How to start?

I made this blog a learning blog. Is blogging for me? Will I be in it? I do not know. yet it is worth trying new things in life. Even if they seem strange or stupid at first, they may eventually turn out to be the best ideas that popped into your head.   This short entry is a start for me. We will see where this journey takes me ...
